Premarin (Conjugated estrogens) Interactions : This generic drug may slow down the elimination of cyclosporine from the body causing enhanced levels of it in the blood and this may result in kidney and/ or liver damage. Women who are above the age of 35 years and those who already have liver ailments are especially at greater risk. Women taking this prescription drug should avoid taking rifampin, carbamazpine, barbiturates, phenytoin, griseofulvin and primidone as all these are able to enhance the elimination of estrogen by augmenting the aptitude of the liver to assimilate it and also diminish the effects of this generic drug.
